2022 CFWF Awards

(Regina, Saskatchewan – October 1, 2022) The 2022 Canadian Farm Writers’ Federation (CFWF) contest winners were announced at the CFWF annual conference banquet held at the Atlas Hotel in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The awards highlight the talent and hard work of agricultural journalists, broadcasters, communicators and photographers from across Canada. 

Congratulations to all SFWA members on their contributions to Canada’s agriculture industry through excellence in journalism, broadcasting, communications and photography over the past year. Here are Saskatchewan’s award recipients at CFWF22.

Jack Dawes inducted to Sask. Ag Hall of Fame

August 15, 2022

SFWA congratulates long-time member Jack Dawes who is to be inducted into the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame in fall 2022. Jack is recognized for his respected work an agricultural broadcast journalist – especially his radio broadcasts on CJGX Yorkton in the 1980s and ’90s – his genuine interest in learning about the sector, and his storytelling abilities. Apart from his successful broadcast career, Jack was general manager of the Prairie Oat Growers Association from 2003 to 2011 and was key in establishing the Saskatchewan Oat Development Commission and Manitoba Oat Growers Association.
