Saskatoon
I’m a passionate foodie and farm girl raised on a grain and beef farm near Saskatoon. In 1993, I founded AgriBiz Communications, which provides management, marketing and communication services to agriculture and food organizations and businesses across North America. I am a vocal champion of agriculture, especially in the area of building public trust in agriculture in our country.
Community involvement and fostering connections is important to me. I am an active volunteer and have provided leadership on a variety of boards, including serving as past-president of both Agriculture in the Classroom and Saskatoon Prairieland Park, and past chair of SaskTel Centre. Currently, I’m a director on the boards of the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity and the NSBA (North Sask Business Association) and serve as a committee member on the Saskatchewan Advisory Committee on the Gender Entrepreneurship Gap, WESK (Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan.).
In 2019, I received the Branch Communication Award of the Canadian Culinary Federation/CF Saskatoon and was recognized as an Honorary Life Member of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrology, and I’m a proud 2020 inductee of the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame.
I’ve written many columns and articles, and currently contribute a monthly column to The Western Producer that focuses on noteworthy western Canadian restaurants that support local producers and ingredients.
At the core of my business is an immense pride to work in an industry that produces the best food in the world.
