Regina
Growing up on the family farm in southern Manitoba, I always enjoyed writing and being creative. So after high school, I moved to the big city to pursue a communications career. I obtained a communications degree from the University of Winnipeg.
While I had no intentions of working in agriculture when I started my career, I quickly learned that writers with a farm background were in high demand.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work for ag media, ag agencies, ag not-for-profit organizations, and both public and private ag companies, all while maintaining my connection to the farm. This has provided me with diverse experience.
I also believe in continuing education and have expanded and updated my skills and knowledge through several communications, marketing and public relations courses.
Participating in professional development organizations is also important to me. I’ve been involved in Canadian Farm Writers Federation and Canadian Agri-Marketing Association provincial chapters in all three Prairie provinces. I’m passionate about agriculture and communications, and I’m grateful that my career path has allowed me to combine these two passions.
